As Andrew McAfee have said during the TED talks video "Are droids taking our jobs?", yes, droids are taking out jobs and no they are not.
Some of our jobs will be taken away by robots, but at the same time they will open up opportunities for new jobs.
Heavy industry might be taken over by the industrial production robots, transportation might be taken over by the self driving vehicles and farming might become automated just to mention a few examples and those examples provide with different opportunities for jobs like maintenance, refinement and further developement of the machines doing the musclework.
Technology provides with higher productivity but requires less manpower and what those people that is no longer required for the job is going to do is uncertain but there will always be something for them to do even if it is not directly within sight.
My conclusion is similar as yours (but I was too tired and busy to phrase it in a good way), droids will take over some of our jobs, will be interesting to see what will come in the future when we don't have to do all manual labour of today.

SvaraRaderaHi Marcus!
SvaraRaderaThis is basically what I wrote in my reflection. I don´t think that the technological development is a bad thing. Hopefully this will push people to educate them self and perhaps focus on something more important than doing manual labor.
nice reflection, and I totaly agree with you. yes maybe some jobs will be taken, but it will lead to new jobs. so there is nothing to be worried about.
